Farewell to the F06 - Faculty of Engineering

The Society for Social Activities (SSA) and students from the F07 batch of the Faculty of Engineering arranged a Farewell party for the F06 batch at the Garden Town campus on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. The event was attended by the Dean, faculty members and students from all sessions.

The evening started with a comedy skit by SSA members followed by a well produced and edited movie that paid tribute to the F06 session and to the senior faculty members of the FOE including the late Dr. Muhammad Nawaz.

Funny titles and awards were given to some F06 students who in turn came on stage and ‘passed on the torch’ of seniority to the F07 students.
The evening was eloquently hosted by Gohar Salim of F07 who brought energy and liveliness to the occasion. All praises to Gohar. The atmosphere was casual and laid back and the event was properly organized and well managed.

The event ended with a live musical performance which was succeeded by dinner and everyone went home after thoroughly enjoying the evening.

IDEAS SOCIETY’S FIRST C.S.R. ACTIVITY AT SHAUKAT KHANUM HOSPITAL P-II

“The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience. Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around.... Throughout history, “tender loving care” has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing.” Larry Dossey

On Friday, 16th of April 2010, members of Ideas Society along with the society’s patron Prof. Rasheed Khalid, visited the children wards of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital for Cancer. The aim of this visit was to bring back the lost smiles of those innocent flowers, which were fighting with the curse of cancer. The students believed that if they could make even a single child’s day, it was worth the effort.
